NEW Program for Resolving Strata Bylaw Disputes through MediationBCAMI is pleased to announce the launch of the Strata Mediation Pilot Program (SMPP).
The new program will include the following elements:
- only bylaw disputes will be accepted initially
- both parties must agree to participate in the mediation
- once a dispute has been accepted, a mediator will be assigned from the program roster who will contact the parties to arrange a date and venue for the mediation
- the fee for a two-hour mediation is $350.00 plus GST and where applicable, room rental costs
This is a great opportunity for owners, strata council members and strata corporations (throughout the province of B.C.) to resolve a variety of bylaw issues in a respectful, cost effective and timely manner.
The Strata Mediation Pilot Program, launched by BCAMI in October 2007, will consist of a roster of highly skilled mediators with knowledge of strata corporation disputes.
